How to calculate your escort rate

EXCELLENT READ!!!
How to calculate your escort rate
http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/95698874/howtocalculateyourrate.pdf

Written by Amanda Brooks.
Its a very in depth way of calculating your escort rate.
Anyways, I just thought this might be helpful to for some of you lovely ladies.

A couple key points in this article that I really liked:

"Plan your rate structure around the concept of time and only time. I don't care what sexual activities you do or do not plan on offering. Charge for your time. If you don't think you're being fairly compensated, then increase your whole rate structure."

"A popular idea propagated by hobbyist is that escorts should lower their rates to make more money. This is a myth. These men do not have your best interests in mind."

Legal Advice For Sex Workers with XXX Attorney JD Obenberger

Red Light reporter kittenINFINITE sits down with adult industry attorney Joe Obenberger to get his advice and opinions about the sex industry in Chicago, the judicial process, and why those who have been arrested on prostitution charges should plead "not guilty". Part of our "Know Your Rights" series.

Know Your Rights!

kittenINFINITE explains what your rights are if you are a sex worker arrested on the job, and what you should and should not do when dealing with law enforcement. The SWOP-Chicago gang re-enact some commonly used police tactics in interrogation and how you should handle yourself in each situation.

Spotting Time wasters

Don't know if any of y'all are familiar with site called SAAFE (Support and Advice for Escorts) or not, but I thought I'd share it anyways.

I really liked the "How to spot Time wasters" page... so I just wanted to "re-post" part of it here as well.

Spotting Time wasters

There are many reasons for people to waste your time and they should not be confused with genuine cancellations which, whilst a bit of a pain, are inevitable as the sort of clients you attract may well have jobs that take them away to a different area at the last minute. People do become ill and of course most of us at some point in our life have conflicting commitments which may mean we can't keep to an appointment time.
The genuine ones will call and let you know and most likely will rebook but for those who are not genuine and are pure time wasters, you need to keep a note of their details so you don't keep falling for it. It's up to you how many chances you give someone who continually calls to cancel a booking; maybe you could ask for a non-returnable deposit of it happens a lot or you could just refuse to take the booking. Again, as an independent, its up to you.
Listed below are some of the views of working girls on time wasters. Of course genuine people may use them too so don't be taking it as gospel but do use it as little voice on your shoulder when assessing what is genuine and what is not.

The Real Monsters

After watching a few documentaries on some serial killers the other day, I got to thinking about a few things that really inspired me to write this article.

You know something that I have always told my kids over and over again, is that "monsters" are real. But the real monsters aren't going to be some kind of creature under your bed, a possessed Chucky doll, flesh eating zombies, or Freddy Krueger out to kill you from your dreams.

No, I make sure to constantly remind them that monsters like the ones from those kind of movies are not the real threat. The "REAL MONSTERS" don't look anything like those scary boogie men, but even worse, they look just like you and me. Which really makes that even more scary when you stop to look at it. Because if they really did look like that, at least you'd know what they were right away. But the "real monsters" look just like any normal person. They blend in with the rest of us. And some of the most absolutely diabolical ones hold down good jobs, go to church, and raise families. (Well at least most of them. I am aware that there are deranged psychos out there, like Richard Chase for example. But at least with those guys, you can see them for what they are right off the bat.)

Just take a look at some of the "real life monsters" who targeted sex workers.

Verify him

I don't know if you gals have ever heard of this site verifyhim.com but if you haven't joined yet, you are missing out on a great resource. Basically it's a black list for not just dangerous clients but ass holes and time wasters too. There search database returns all sorts of useful info on the guy you want to find out more about.

There's also a wealth of helpful tips and tricks to help keep you smart and safe.
You get your own profile and blog and can add other members to your friends list. You can also live chat with other gals online (kinda like on facebook).

It's a great networking tool as well as a beautiful support system of other lovely ladies who can relate to all the same things from working in this business.

Great Advice for New Cam Models

An excellent post by Evvie on Ambercutie forums that I found to be very informative and absolutely essential for everyone looking into becoming a cam model and cam models that are new to the profession to read. So I'm re-posting it here, and hope that others re-post and pass on this info as well.

I do not believe that MFC is a good site for beginner models, although you all may change my mind! Here is my argument:

♥ Camming has a steep learning curve. Juggling everything at once and spinning it in to a successful shift where the model is on top of everything takes at least several shifts to get the hang of; and yet, MFC starts punishing models as soon as they log on by reducing their camscore when they don't bring in enough tokens.
The only new models I see with high camscores are models who already have experience working on other camsites.

I've only worked on MFC and SM, but I would call SM more beginner-friendly, and here be why:

"An Open Letter to the Gents that Read Girl Talk"

Dear Gents:Would you like to increase your odds of seeing the provider of your choice? Here are a few VERY SIMPLE tips to make your ending happy!
1. READ the provider's ad. I mean from top to bottom. Nothing is more aggravating to a provider than to have someone call who has only looked at the picture and gotten the phone number. Your odds of impressing her (and not wasting your time) are unfold.
2. If you are emailing, write her a letter someone akin to a business letter. Introduce yourself, give your name (or nom de plume) and announce that you wish to make an appointment. If she requires references (which you have no doubt found out by READING her ad), this would be a good time to go ahead and give them to her.
Again, you will increase your odds 110% by being polite and using proper English. None of this: "i wunt se yu.how muck?" Remember that delightful technology known as spell check! It was made for a reason!
When giving references, please do not write "I saw Sue in Oakland." Despite the fact that you think we have a global tracking unit in our brains on every girl who has ever worked or will work, we really do not! Despite the fact that there are 200 Sues in Oakland, it speeds up the process if you give as much detail as you can. Please also CONTACT Sue in Oakland and ask if she gives references. That sweet little cutie may just have a chip on her shoulder when it comes to her sistren. It happens.
One last thing, again, the polite business letter. Not the badly mispelled one sentence, or even worse, the "hi." End of email. We are quite good at using the DELETE key these days!
3. Do not call when you HAVE to see her in 1/2 hour or bust. Most providers need time to stop what they are doing, freshen up the house and themselves, which does take a bit of time (not including finding your references if she does that.)
Also, please try not to schedule an appointment when you know you might have tons of business interruptions. She might forgive you once, but two or three times, fuhgeddiboudit!
4. Once at her incall, please remember to place the donation on her coffee table (in an envelope is quite nice.)
5. Please, when taking a shower, clean front to BACK! You might not think you smell offensive, but ya do. Trust me, ya do. Maybe you are saying to yourself, you could care less. But if you care for good service, look to yourself before you start throwing stones...

xoxo, Rose
