Great Advice for New Cam Models

An excellent post by Evvie on Ambercutie forums that I found to be very informative and absolutely essential for everyone looking into becoming a cam model and cam models that are new to the profession to read. So I'm re-posting it here, and hope that others re-post and pass on this info as well.

I do not believe that MFC is a good site for beginner models, although you all may change my mind! Here is my argument:

♥ Camming has a steep learning curve. Juggling everything at once and spinning it in to a successful shift where the model is on top of everything takes at least several shifts to get the hang of; and yet, MFC starts punishing models as soon as they log on by reducing their camscore when they don't bring in enough tokens.
The only new models I see with high camscores are models who already have experience working on other camsites.

I've only worked on MFC and SM, but I would call SM more beginner-friendly, and here be why:

"An Open Letter to the Gents that Read Girl Talk"

Dear Gents:Would you like to increase your odds of seeing the provider of your choice? Here are a few VERY SIMPLE tips to make your ending happy!
1. READ the provider's ad. I mean from top to bottom. Nothing is more aggravating to a provider than to have someone call who has only looked at the picture and gotten the phone number. Your odds of impressing her (and not wasting your time) are unfold.
2. If you are emailing, write her a letter someone akin to a business letter. Introduce yourself, give your name (or nom de plume) and announce that you wish to make an appointment. If she requires references (which you have no doubt found out by READING her ad), this would be a good time to go ahead and give them to her.
Again, you will increase your odds 110% by being polite and using proper English. None of this: "i wunt se yu.how muck?" Remember that delightful technology known as spell check! It was made for a reason!
When giving references, please do not write "I saw Sue in Oakland." Despite the fact that you think we have a global tracking unit in our brains on every girl who has ever worked or will work, we really do not! Despite the fact that there are 200 Sues in Oakland, it speeds up the process if you give as much detail as you can. Please also CONTACT Sue in Oakland and ask if she gives references. That sweet little cutie may just have a chip on her shoulder when it comes to her sistren. It happens.
One last thing, again, the polite business letter. Not the badly mispelled one sentence, or even worse, the "hi." End of email. We are quite good at using the DELETE key these days!
3. Do not call when you HAVE to see her in 1/2 hour or bust. Most providers need time to stop what they are doing, freshen up the house and themselves, which does take a bit of time (not including finding your references if she does that.)
Also, please try not to schedule an appointment when you know you might have tons of business interruptions. She might forgive you once, but two or three times, fuhgeddiboudit!
4. Once at her incall, please remember to place the donation on her coffee table (in an envelope is quite nice.)
5. Please, when taking a shower, clean front to BACK! You might not think you smell offensive, but ya do. Trust me, ya do. Maybe you are saying to yourself, you could care less. But if you care for good service, look to yourself before you start throwing stones...

xoxo, Rose

Larry Flynt is at it again

At about 2:50 minutes into this video Alex Jones reads a quote from Larry Flynt exposing the corruption of our government.
This is not the first time Mr. Flynt has blown the whistle of corruption within our very own government.

Hustler Magazine actually breaks important stories

Not a lot of people know this, but Hustler Magazine actually does break important stories involving corruption within our government. These two stories I’m about to mention are actually pretty old news. But sense these stories haven’t received the press and notoriety that they are worth; I’m going to mention them again.

It started in 1983 when Larry Flynt exposed the surveillance tape that he received showing DeLorean's arrest and the events that happened after. An undercover FBI agent posing as a dealer had offered the cocaine to DeLorean, telling him that this would be a solution to his financial problems.
Startling new evidence has blown a hole in the FBI’s official theory about the blast that destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City and killed at least 168 people.
HUSTLER has obtained previously unseen video footage showing convicted and executed bomber Timothy McVeigh undergoing military training in 1993—at a time when the FBI claims he had no military affiliations.
Listen to the interview with the source of the footage.

Janice G. Raymond Spews Propaganda

I just came across an article written by Janice G. Raymond back in 2003 titled 10 Reasons for Not Legalizing Prostitution. Reading it just about made me want to puke. I knew that there must be a rebuttal written from someone by now somewhere on the internet. And I was right. The following is a rebuttal written by  Tracy Ryan on behalf of Arresting Prostitutes is Legal Exploitation, (APLE):

In 2003 Janice Raymond of CATW, (Coalition Against Trafficking in Women International), wrote “10 Reasons for Not Legalizing Prostitution”. Recently this work has been circulated to offer rationales to oppose the proposals suggested by APLE, (Arresting Prostitutes is Legal Exploitation). Like CATW, APLE is extremely concerned with the health and safety of individuals involved in prostitution. Clearly serious and significant harm has occurred and continues to occur to individuals involved in sex work.  APLE understands that the harms associated with prostitution can manifest on a variety of levels from harm to the prostitutes themselves extending to harm to their families, friends, customers, community and to the larger society.  APLE understands that prostitution in and of doesn’t cause harm. The root causes of harm related to prostitution are highly complex, stemming from historical, cultural, and societal norms to individual morals, values, and beliefs. CATW does not appear to hold this complex understanding of prostitution.  Ms. Raymond lists ten reasons to oppose what she lumps together as the legalization or decriminalization of prostitution in her article. This response is intended to address those points.
My objections to the arguments presented by Raymond are clustered into several main areas. First is her reliance on questionable statistics and studies, most of which were done by anti-prostitution advocacy groups.  It is too easy for people who have an axe to grind to come up with whatever results they want in such studies.  It is generally understood that unless studies are done using appropriate research methodology the statistics they present are of little or no value. A separate paper on scientific methodology and how bias of the researchers can affect results is attached.
The second general problem is one of relevance. Many of the complaints, valid or not, raised by Raymond apply specifically to legalized systems of prostitution overseas. They have no connection to the changes discussed by APLE for Hawaii.
The third problem is relationship. Ms. Raymond discusses problems and furnishes statistics, but does little to relate them to any solutions of her own. At no point does she attempt to demonstrate how the arresting of prostitutes or their customers will solve the problems she sees. APLE does not claim that decriminalization will solve all of the many problems Raymond is concerned with. It will however solve several other problems that Raymond never bothers to discuss.
The final issue I take with the Raymond approach is its undercurrent of morality. It appears that she and her CATW believe that prostitution in all cases and in all times is universally harmful. Therefore they ignore any arguments or evidence to the contrary. This simplistic attitude taints all of the studies and conclusions they present.
Hereunder are my responses to the ten points against legalizing/decriminalizing prostitution as stated by Raymond.   Her numbered points are in bold text.

"What you're doing, is wrong!"

Is the name of a thread on the popular website MyRedBook.com
Someone that goes by the handle FBI_undercover wrote the following and I felt that the response from CJ_Taylormade was very articulate to say the least:

OP:
Have you ever thought about your wife? Your kids? Or perhaps the misery of the prostitute (those "silent sessions")? Your hobbying is very VERY immoral, and I hope that you realize sooner or later, before you get arrested.
But of course, if you don't have wife or kids, and the prostitute is not forced and incredibly enjoys her job, then this does not apply.

Response from  CJ_Taylormade:
Oh Boy, what an interesting thread.
I cannot speak on married people and what they choose to do that may or may not harm their relationships with their family.
I can say however, that many women who do this have no "visible" pimp in their lives. Instead they are pimped by AT&T, the medicine they need for their kid, their landlord, the grocer and so on and so on. These wonderful services that we look to as a needed in life that you could go to crying, with one leg and half a right arm and they would look at you with a blank stare and act like you are speaking in another language. They want their money, not sad stories about why you cannot provide the money for the service that you want/need.
That's issue numero uno in my book.
Number 2: If the original poster and anyone else that posts want to try to help get rid of any negative feelings a provider may have because she is providing then do your part in not talking about women who do this type of thing with disrespect. If women who did this type of thing didn't have to worry that everytime she opened up to someone about how she survives and supports herself and/or her family, she didn't get (1) hit on and treated like an immediate sex object, (2) shy'd away from because you now deem that person as not a good associate and (3) talked about like some piece of trash behind their backs.
I cannot do anything about who or who doesn't decide to hobby. Guess what FBI undercover? Neither can you. All we can do is our little tiny part to try to make our own worlds what we want them to be.
It takes an extreme amount of people skills to perform this type of service. It takes phone skills. Coordination skills and in this day and age, decent computer or at least writing skills to post a decent, readable ad. We aren't even talking about the actual get together yet, but if you want to talk about the skills needed there, let's just say....you are right, it's not an easy job. You are sharing your most intimate self with a stranger. You have to learn how to disconnect and see it for what it really is without all the thoughts of that you are only suppoosed to share your body and yourself with those that you have feelings for. For me, I really did think of it as a service. Some of these guys have no one. No wife to go home to. No girlfriend. Heck, it may have been years since they've even had a woman smile at them. In that case it was easy for me to want to make someone feel good if only for a moment.
We all have our demons and our angels so to speak. I've learned that you cannot control what others do or how they behave. It's hard enough to control one's own life, let alone the lives of others.
So, be nice to your provider, do not talk to them or about them with disrespect, maybe even drop a positive line or two when you hear anyone speak badly of a woman doing this line of work. Maybe, just maybe, one day us providers and ex-providers will be seen as regular, normal people like the rest of the world. It's just a JOB. If someone visits a CMT and gets a full body rub-down to relax their muscles it is not far off from what takes place when you meet a provider.
Remember, there is a whole big world out there that most of us never even think about. That's why we get so caught up with the trivial stuff and worrying about relationships that some person we have never met might mess up.
Ok, I'm done.

what types of jobs are “sex work”?

sexworkerproblems:
Generally speaking, if you’re getting paid to get someone else hot and bothered, you’re doing some kind of sex work. Sex workers of all kinds, even if they aren’t actually having sex with anyone, have many of the same lifestyle pros and cons, as well as face the same “whore” stigma. More specific job titles can include:
  • prostitute (streetwalkers, rent boys, hookers, escorts, call girls, and courtesans alike)
  • stripper
  • porn performer
  • webcam model
  • professional dominant (offline and on)
  • professional submissive
  • phone sex operator
  • “happy ending” massage parlour workers
  • peep show performers
Sex workers are of every gender and no gender. Sex workers are young, old, and middle aged. Sex workers are rich, poor, or in the middle—hopefully comfortable. Sex workers come in every size and color, with any kind of body you can imagine. We run the gamut from glam to dowdy.
You can’t tell a whore by looking.
This is not meant to be a complete list and obviously there are some practises that fall into a grey area, like sugar baby/daddy(or mommy) relationships. As some commenters have pointed out, a lot of sex work is opportunistic, and thus many more people will trade sex for compensation, in practice, than will ever think of themselves as “sex workers”.

How to stalk people on the internet

This was originally posted by Bawksy on Ambercutie Forums.
I definitely recommend going to the site and reading through the entire thread. A lot of other models and members also added a bunch of useful info as well.
http://www.ambercutie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5764

We see threads from time to time in this forum asking about whether Amazon Wishlists are secure, whether IP addresses can be traced, and so on. I'm sure the models-only section has plenty of information about how to protect your identity online too. These threads are useful, but the best way to protect from a stalker is to get into the mind of a stalker.

The purpose of this thread is to document in specific detail all the techniques that a stalker might use to find a cam model. This is not to educate would-be-stalkers, but rather to educate cam girls as to how to protect themselves from said techniques.

Before I get started, I'd like to point out here that no preventative measures can ever protect you completely from being found by a stalker. Please read this post here before we get started:

The Murder of the DC Madam

DC Madam Predicted She Would Be Suicided
"Rape, beating, maiming, disfigurement and more than likely murder disguised in the form of just another jailhouse accident or suicide would await me," Palfrey wrote - Time Magazine curiously quick to re-affirm suicide story

Click here to listen to Palfrey clearly state that she would not commit suicide.
DC Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey predicted she would be "suicided" on several occasions both recently and as far back as 17 years ago - comments that now appear ominous in light of the announcement that the former head of a Washington escort service allegedly killed herself today.
"If taken into custody, my physical safety and most probably my very life would be jeopardized," she wrote in August 1991 following an attempt to bring her to trial, "Rape, beating, maiming, disfigurement and more than likely murder disguised in the form of just another jailhouse accident or suicide would await me," said Palfrey in a handwritten letter to the judge accusing the San Diego police vice squad of having a vendetta against her.
During several recent appearances on The Alex Jones Show, Palfrey also said that she was at risk of being killed and that authorities would make it look like suicide. She made it clear that she was not suicidal and if she was found dead it would be murder.
Palfrey had threatened to release the names of well-known clients of her upscale call girl ring in the nation's capitol, and had indicated that Dick Cheney may be one of them.
"We now know it goes at least as high as a United States Senator," Palfrey told The Alex Jones Show, "I'm hearing rumors now from other people that there are other possibilities in that stratosphere so to speak, on that level."
"No I'm not planning to commit suicide," Palfrey told The Alex Jones Show on her last appearance in March, "I'm planning on going into court and defending myself vigorously and exposing the government," she said.
"Blanche Palfrey had no sign that her daughter was suicidal, and there was no immediate indication that alcohol or drugs were involved, police Capt. Jeffrey Young said," according to an AP report.
Click here to listen to Palfrey clearly state that she would not commit suicide.
Click here to listen to the entirety of a July 2007 interview with Palfrey.
UPDATE: In an almost uncanny development, as soon as this article started to go viral on the Internet, Time Magazine released a story claiming that Palfrey told author Dan Moldea that she would rather commit suicide than go to jail. What a funny coincidence!

An Open Letter From A Stripper

[This is a Re-post]

 http://jezebel.com/5603659/an-open-letter-from-a-stripper?tag=firstperson

Girl, your man owes me 60 dollars. About your man: white, early 30s, balding, slightly chubby, suited, small dick rubbing into my ass. Your typical strip club patron.

I gave him five lap dances before he claimed he did not know they were 20$ per dance, then bolted without paying me. Before he did, though, he nervously stammered about how he liked this club because it seemed to respect patrons' privacy, like we were entering into some tacit agreement.
We weren't! First of all, as a man coming to a strip club by himself when his girlfriend was out of town, there was no way you didn't know that every club charges 20$ a dance. There are signs up saying as much too, but because I gave you the benefit of the doubt I even agreed not to charge you for the last dance. But then again, even if you did not know, saying you were going to the ATM directly outside and then bolting after you felt you had solicited some confirmation that I wouldn't tell on you is a dirty, dirty thing to do, and here's why.
I should not have to convince you that the work I do deserves pay like everyone else, but because you seem like a stupid man, I will give you a quick run-through. I do not make any hourly/shift wage. In fact, I have to tip out every night that I work. Its called a house fee, it can run up to 200$ depending on the club, and its part of a model that is pervasive throughout the service industry. This is also why you should also tip waitresses and bartenders fairly. I am also not an employee but an independent contractor, meaning I have no worker's rights or larger support network, like a union.

Basics of cam modeling on MFC in a nut shell

THIS IS A RE-POST

Basics of cam modeling on MFC in a nut shell

There's good money to be made in webcam modeling and even more money in G/G shows on cam with the proper planning, a good promotion a head of time.
Here is an example of a good promotional ad of a successful webcam show from AedanRayne and Oohthatlady

Here's a screen shot of their show:

There is also good money to be made in selling content of past shows (ie, Photo sets, and videos).
Here's an example ad of content from one of AedanRayne and JolenJolen's past shows:
